Abstract
An aliphatic polyester with degradable characteristics as poly(d,l-lactide) (PDLLA) was synthesized by ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of the d,l-lactide using tin (II) 2-ethyl-hexanoate as initiator and primary alcohols as coinitiators. PDLLA was characterized by proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR). The concepts and synthesis that are shown here are a contribution for courses of organic chemistry and polymers.
