Exact solutions including general hyperbolic traveling wave solutions, general trigonometric function solutions for the generalized regularized long wave (GRLW) equation, the Gardner equation and the KdV–Burgers equation are obtained using the G′G-expansion method. If we set the parameters in the obtained wider set of solutions as special values, then some previously known solutions can be recovered. This method appears to be easier and faster by means of symbolic computation system. The properties of some periodic-like and soliton-like solution for this system are shown by some figures.
