Abstract
⺠A series of experiments are described to investigate the free surface shape of air-immersed grains. ⺠At high rotation rates a steep depression appears and air-grain interfaces in the depression shows fractal type patterns. ⺠Computer simulations are used to show fractal patterns are due to turbulent diffusion.
