Abstract
► The nutritional composition of grains of high iron transgenic rice is comparable to that of non-transgenic counterpart. ► The nutritional components of transgenic ferritin seeds are well within the accepted range of reported values. ► Based on the substantial equivalence concept of OECD the analysed transgenic seeds are safe for human consumption.
