Abstract
⺠A simple and reliable HPLC-UV method for the determination of EDTA in foods was developed. ⺠Ultrasonication was used for the extraction of EDTA from food samples. ⺠After converting to Fe(III) complex, EDTA was separated on a reversed-phase C30 column. ⺠The LOQ of this method was 0.01 mmol/kg. ⺠Good recoveries were obtained for a carbonated drink, a jelly, canned beans and a food supplement.
