Abstract
⺠Multiple lutein esters are described for the first time in ripe raspberries. ⺠Pigment composition in raspberries changes dramatically over ripening. ⺠Phytoene and lutein esters increase in late ripening stages, indicating active biosynthesis. ⺠Ripe fruits contain considerable amounts of lutein, lutein esters and tocopherols. ⺠Five ripe raspberry varieties analysed showed different isoprenoid contents.
