Abstract
An asymmetric synthesis of the piperidine alkaloid (â)-sedridine isolated from Sedum acre, has been accomplished starting from S-malic acid as the chiral precursor employing Maruoka Keck allylation, azide nucleophillic substitution and ring closing metathesis as the key steps.
