Abstract
- Optimized detection of sulfur compounds is demonstrated with proton transfer reaction mass spectrometry (PTR-MS).
- The optimization is presented in depth for methanethiol, dimethyl sulfide and dimethyl disulfide.
- The drift tube humidity and reduced electric field (E/N) are optimized for each compound.
- The undertaken optimizations allowed sulfur compounds to be observed as biomarkers for herbivore attack from Brassica rapa after infestation with Delia radicum larvae.
