Abstract
- This paper introduces a new linear working mode of BNG, and proves its feasibility with both simulations and experiments.
- The ion transmission in the open state mainly depends on the mechanical aperture ratio, while in the transition state it mainly depends on the electric field ratio.
- The transmission can be easily and precisely controlled by adjusting the voltage difference in the transition state.
- The linear mode BNG can be used with cosine wave modulation in FT-IMS to improve the spectrum precision.
