Abstract
- Evidence for covalent CC bond formation is found in reactions of CO2â (H2O)n with C3H5OH.
- Nanocalorimetry and DFT calculations indicate weak bond.
- Reaction product HOC3H5COOâ is stabilized by H atom transfer from neutral C3H5OH.
- Calculated potential energy surfaces explain experimentally observed reactions.
