Abstract
⺠We compare building and decomposition pathways of two phosphonic acids. ⺠We examine whether the thermal decomposition is reverse to the formation mechanism. ⺠Based on the identified volatile products decomposition pathways were derived. ⺠We conclude that the decomposition processes follow the formation mechanism.
