Abstract
⺠Two simplified models for pyrolyzing thermally thin particles are presented. ⺠Pyrolysis is assumed to occur in a thin reaction front at a prescribed temperature. ⺠Simple relationships are derived for prediction of preheating and pyrolysis time. ⺠Both models are validated using experiments and predictions of detailed models.
