Abstract
► Bio-available iodine and bromine speciation studies in edible seaweed were developed. ► In vitro dialyzability was used to assess the bio-available fractions. ► AEC and RPC hyphenated with inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry was used. ► Iodide, MIT, DIT, bromide and bromate were found in dialyzates from edible seaweed. ► Orbitrap mass spectrometry confirmed the presence of MIT and DIT in the dialyzates.
