Abstract
► This study aimed to establish a nutritional ranking among 30 genotypes of cowpea. ► The proximate composition and other parameters vary among the genotypes. ► Traditional genetic breeding can produce significant variation in food composition. ► An index was created based on 7 nutritional parameters to rank the genotypes. ► Based upon the index, the best genotype was BRS-Cauamé followed by BRS-Tumucumaque.
