Study on the pharmacokinetics profiles of Polyphyllin I and its bioavailability enhancement through co-administration with P-glycoprotein inhibitors by LC-MS/MS method

- The bioavailability of PPI is about 0.62% after oral administration.
- P-gp inhibitors decrease efflux ratio of PPI in Caco-2 cell model.
- P-gp inhibitors increase intracellular concentration of PPI in Caco-2 cell model.
- P-gp inhibitors could enhance the oral bioavailability of PPI in rats.
