- Red yeast rice (RYR) is the fermented rice used in treatment of hypercholesterolemia.
- RYR samples and dietary supplements analyzed for monacolins, pigments and citrinin.
- Principle component analysis used to discriminate between RYR samples and dietary supplements.
- Monacolin K from dietary supplements varied almost 10-fold from 0.12Â mg/day to 10.46Â mg/day.
