Abstract
- We employed hydrogel nanoparticles to concentrate urinary hGH into the linear range of isoform differential immunoassays.
- The pre-processing step allowed measurement of urine spiked with recombinant and pituitary hGH.
- Nanoparticles pre-treatment was applied to urine from healthy volunteers administered with recombinant hGH.
- The recombinant/pituitary hGH concentration ratios remained above the established WADA criterion for hGH misuse up to 24Â h after the last administration dose.
- The use of nanoparticles appears to open the possibility of assessing rhGH misuse in urine.
