Abstract
We propose that there are two pathways of AMP-jsa9 action on B. cereus cells. First, AMP-jsa9 inhibits bacterial sporulation, cell wall biosynthesis, energy metabolism, thiamine biosynthesis, and DNA transcription and translation by directly regulating levels of protein expression. Second, AMP-jsa9 indirectly affected the same pathways through the accumulation of ROS and consequent impairment of cellular functions, resulting from downregulation of antioxidant proteins, especially CAT and SOD.143
