Abstract
► Response to iron was assayed in mouse bone marrow macrophages through high-res 2-DE. ► Iron induced metabolic dysregulation at the transcript, protein and metabolic level. ► GAPDH relocated to the membrane and was probably involved in iron homeostasis. ► Over-activation of Krebs cycle was paralleled by oxidative stress. ► The integration of omics approaches supported and expanded proteomics results.
