Abstract
⺠HPLC-Q-TOF-based untargeted metabolomics was performed on stored RBC concentrates. ⺠We observed a rapid fall of glycolytic rate and accumulation of end products. ⺠Metabolism shifted towards the oxidative phase of pentose phosphate pathway. ⺠Oxidative stress was exacerbated in RBCs and supernatants. ⺠Metabolism proceeded from PPP towards purine salvage pathway.
