The concentrations of proteins synthesized by the liver (CP, CRP) dynamically increase during consecutive trimesters of pregnancy unlike neutrophil-derived proteins (LF, MPO). Statistically significant correlations between the proportions of the serum proteins may suggest their combined role for the maintenance of homeostasis during pregnancy.
