Abstract
At a time when prevention strategy is a major focus of public health policy and where neonatal screening has undergone its first reorganisation in France for 40 years, it is interesting to look at this comprehensive national programme through the eyes of the biologist, who is responsible for these examinations (from the pre- to the post-analytical) and who is confronted with the regulations. The current description of the organisation of screening may however change insofar as a review by the Health Authorities is underway to possibly include new pathologies in the panel offered to each baby.
