Abstract
Nosocomial bacterial meningitis is a dangerous complication after neurosurgery or meningeal contaminating care. It is a difficult infection to diagnose and to treat. The authors report the case of nosocomial meningitis with a multiresistant Acinetobacter baumannii strain occurring in the post-operative course of a meningioma and which has been follow up during the evolution by empyema to a Citrobacter freundii multi resistant to antibiotics. The diagnosis was based on a range of clinical, biochemical and bacteriological arguments. Evolution was favorable under intrathecal and parenteral treatment.
