Abstract
Telepathology has been defined as the electronic capture and distribution of digital images similar to the images observed with a classical microscope and the ability to make a diagnosis efficiently according to the same criteria of quality and safety than with a classical microscope. We report the feasibility and the operational efficacity of a such system used for the application in routine of the standardized procedure of certification of the French National Reference Center MESOPATH for the mesothelioma network. We report the advantages but also the constraints, the challenges and the future of such a new technology for histopathologists.
