Abstract
Currently, the development of multiparameter automated laboratory systems increases the use of turbidimetric methods at the expense of nephelometric methods which is still the most sensitive and specific for carrying out the immunological determination of protein concentrations. This may distort the interpretation of the results especially of serum albumin due to an underestimation of the concentrations. Indeed, official recommendations indicate albumin thresholds values which does not take in account the analytical method used.
