Abstract
Overcoming difficulties: between power and knowledge. The compulsory accreditation requires biologists who are not routinely involved in testing to meet basic skill requirements. The recent report of the court of auditors, dated July, 2013, highlights the difficulties involved in implementing accreditation. Currently a large number of multi-site laboratories are finalizing their entrance to initial accreditation. But to accredit 50% of the examinations of 6 sub-domains involving 17 families for 2016 is not a simple matter. As scientists, we are continually striving for quality. This review summarizes what has been gained and lost through accreditation.
