These last few years, an increasing interest appeared for the search and the dosage of xenobiotics at the laboratory. The use of the alternative hair matrix allows a large detection time window. However, this requires constraints in analytical performances such as sensitivity and specificity and major cautions should be observed in result interpretations. This article presents various aspects of the use, cautions and applications related to hair testing.
