Abstract
Rheumatoid arthritis is an osteo-articular autoimmune disease which physiopathology remains unknown. This article summarizes the current state of our knowledge on the development and progression of this pathology. After a brief review of clinical and biological definitions of rheumatoid arthritis, we will detail the multiple environmental and genetic factors known to affect the development of this pathology. In addition, we will highlight the various ways of interaction between the immune system and bone tissue involved in the development of PR. At end, this article is also an opportunity to highlight existing gaps in the field of biological markers of prognosis the disease progression before and during treatment.
