Abstract
There are 5 clinical subtypes of onychomycosis : Distal and lateral subungual, Proximal subungual onychomycosis, total dystrophic, superficial and endonyx onychomycosis. The nail modifications induced by onychomycosis are often difficult to differentiate, clinically, from other nail diseases. Thus, a nail sampling for culture is preferable before treating with systemic drugs.
