Abstract
Urinalysis is the most requested examination in bacteriology laboratories. This test, theorically easy to perform, allows to confirm urinary tract infection diagnosis. Interpretation is essentially based on bacteriuria and leukocyturia, but clinical symptoms, medical history and pre-analytic steps quality (collection of specimens, preservation and transport) must be taken into account for final result. In this article, difficulties and pitfalls in interpretation of urinalysis are underlined.
