A global analyzer of the primary haemostasis functional quality The global study of primary hemostasis process is frequently performed in case of bleeding syndrome. The questionnaire during the consultation remains fundamental in this diagnosis strategy and after a simple screening, specialized assays will be planned in expert laboratories. PFA-100⢠is an apparatus leading to a rapid and an easy study of the global primary hemostasis process. Ready to use at any time, without any previous preparation of the citrated whole blood sample, it is particularly useful for detecting a von Willebrand factor deficiency and acquired or hereditary platelet dysfunction. This review highlights the up to date, evidence-based, advantages and limits of PFA-100⢠in this dynamic investigation of haemostatic disorders.
