Abstract
Experimental SERS spectra of indigo were acquired using ad hoc SERS active substrates consisting of pulsed laser ablated silver nanoparticles deposited onto polishing sheets. A comparison with density functional theory (DFT) computations results performed on an optimized structure, consisting of an indigo molecule adsorbed onto a silver surface made of 16 silver atoms, showed a remarkable matching.153
