Abstract

•An HIV-1 infection model with Beddington–DeAngelis incidence rate and CTL immune response is studied.•The basic reproduction number R1R1 and the immune response reproduction number R2R2 are derived.•The global stabilities of equilibria have been analyzed.

In this paper, an HIV-1 infection model with Beddington–DeAngelis incidence rate and CTL immune response is investigated. One main feature of this model is that an eclipse stage for the infected cells is included and a portion of these cells is reverted to uninfected cells. We derive the basic reproduction number R1R1 and the immune response reproduction number R2R2 for the HIV-1 infection model. By constructing Lyapunov functions, the global stabilities for the equilibria have been analyzed.
