Abstract
This paper calculates the potential energy curves, spectroscopic parameters, transition dipole moments, and transition probabilities of the PO+ radical. The radiative lifetimes are determined for the vibrational levels of several states. Spectroscopic measurement schemes for observing these states are proposed. The X3Π, 23Π, 13Σ−, 15Π, 25Σ+ and all the six singlet states as well as the first well of the 15Σ− and 15Δ states can be observed via the measurement of transitions proposed here. Some difficulties exist when we observe the 13Δ and 23Σ+ states, as well as the first well of 15Σ+ state, and the second well of the 13Σ+ state by observing the emissions proposed in this paper. The second well of the 13Σ+, 15Σ+, 15Δ, and 15Σ− states are very difficult to observe as almost all the transitions arising from this well are very weak.137
