Abstract
► Adiabatic perturbation method is applied for the first time to the K(n,n) Rosenau-Hyman equation. ► Slow-time evolution of the parameters of a compacton are determined for six dissipative perturbations. ► The analytical results are validated for a singular perturbation by using numerical methods.
