Abstract
⺠The dynamical behavior of the decision-directed equalization algorithm is analyzed. ⺠The algorithm is potentially capable of exhibiting limit-cycles or even chaos. ⺠These results transcend the typical steady state behaviors of the supervised case. ⺠Possibilities concerning step-size selection for the algorithm are also presented.
