Abstract
An unexpected mononuclear Co(III) complex involving a Schiff base-type instead of an anticipated quinazoline complex has been synthesized and structural characterized by spectroscopic methods. Single crystal X-ray analysis, cyclic voltammetry and X-ray photoelectron spectrum (XPS) experiment reveal that the valence of cobalt ion is trivalent. In addition, superoxide dismutase-like activities of HL1 and Co(III) complex were also investigated.
