Abstract
Double zwitterionic Schiff base and its copper complex have been synthesized and characterized. The pKa of the Schiff base was determined by potentiometric and spectrophotometric methods. The DNA binding and cleaving nature of the synthesized compounds was studied. The copper complex shows remarkable effect on morphology of Escherichia coli bacterium.
