Abstract
Two new isomerous PET fluorescent chemosensors (L and Lâ²) for Al3+ have been designed and synthesized. The two chemosensors exhibited fluorescence enhancement upon binding Al3+ in CH3CN by PET inhibition processes from both the sulfur and the nitrogen donors to anthracene. Studies reveal that exhibit good selectivity for Al3+ over other metal ions with little interference in CH3CN. In addition, both L and Lâ² for Al3+ had a lower detection limit.
