Abstract
- Zn-Porphyrin-2-DPA (1) and Zn-Porphyrin-4-DPA (2) was synthesized.
- The binding of 1 with Fe3+ decreases its fluorescence emission by 37.2%.
- Binding of 2 with Fe3+ induces a more remarkable fluorescence decrease by 90.3%.
- The fluorescent emission of 2 kept almost unchanged after adding other metal ions.
- 2 can be used as the first porphyrin-based fluorescence ON-OFF sensor for Fe3+.
