Abstract
												- A new bis-benzimidazole diamide ligand has been synthesized and characterized.
- A trinuclear copper(II) complex with the new ligand is reported for the first time.
- Ligand bridged pentacoordinated Cu(II) is found in the trinuclear complex.
- Fluorescence study shows the diamide fluorophore to be most selective for Fe3+.
