Abstract

The elliptic equation method is improved for constructing exact travelling wave solutions of nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs). The rational forms of Jacobi elliptic functions are presented. By using new Jacobi elliptic function solutions of the elliptic equation, new doubly periodic solutions are obtained for some important PDEs. This method can be applied to many other nonlinear PDEs.
