Abstract
A novel fluorescent detection of hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) and ascorbic acid (AA) was reported via nitrogen-doped carbon dots (N-CDs) as signal readout. The N-CDs were synthesized by one-step pyrolysis of citric acid (CA) and glutamic acid. This method can be successfully applied to the detection of Cr(VI) in real water samples, and AA in vitamins C tablets and human serum sample.145
