Abstract
A comparative study on the sensing characteristics of nanostructured zinc ferrite at room temperature towards three primary alcohols viz. methanol, ethanol and propanol using an impedance technique is reported. The developed sensor exhibits the highest sensor response to methanol and least to propanol. The sensor shows a high selectivity towards alcohol vapours in comparison to other reducing vapours such as formaldehyde, ammonia and acetone.
