Abstract
► UV-LIBS provide higher reproducibility than IR-LIBS for calcified sample calibration. ► UV-LIBS plasma conditions are more stable than IR-LIBS for calcified reference samples. ► UV-LIBS showed reduced matrix effects as shown from the stark broadening of Mg (I). ► Bone ash is a suitable standard for calcified tissue calibration using UV-LIBS.
