Abstract
⺠A novel dansyl-based fluorescent probe for iron ion was synthesized with high quantum yields. ⺠The fluorescent probe is photostable, pH insensitive and water soluble. ⺠The probe shows high selectivity and sensitivity towards iron ion. ⺠The fluorescent probe has the potential to detect iron ion visually.
