Abstract
► The positive effect of Ag+ on fluorescence of FAM-ssDNA was first proposed. ► A turn-on fluorometric assay for Ag+ and turn-off assay for cysteine were designed. ► The more G units of ssDNA, the stronger enhancement of fluorescence.
