Abstract

âº N,N-Dimethyltryptamine (DMT) is a potent psychoactive indole alkaloid present in a variety of ritual beverages. âº This is the first use of SPME/GC-MS for the detection of DMT in psychoactive beverages. âº The determination of DMT present in vinho da jurema samples is also described for the first time. âº DMT concentrations in ayahuasca and vinho da jurema samples ranged from 0.10 to 1.81Â gÂ Lâ1.
