Abstract
⺠Petrol batch independent ethanol quantification in petrol-ethanol blends was achieved. ⺠Reichardt's ET(30) dye was found to have characteristic absorbance λmax in petrol-ethanol blends. ⺠2nd order polynomial was found to be optimum to explain the transition energy of ET(30) with ethanol concentration. ⺠Calibration model can be used for the quantification of ethanol in the concentration range of 2% to 30%. ⺠Statistical parameters show that obtained calibration model is robust.
