Abstract
⺠A new fluorescence method is proposed for the rapid detection of PAH in edible oils. ⺠Spectral overlap and inner-filter effects were observed as matrix interferences. ⺠Solid phase extraction with silica was effective to remove these interferences. ⺠The limit of detection depends on the use of one to three way spectral data. ⺠Individual recoveries of PAHs were assessed by HPLC-FD with satisfactory results.
